Doug <snip> There are *lots* of things that SEU/400 still lacks, but at least some of them are inherently impossible with a block-mode interface. </snip> Such as (apart from graphical features)? For instance, it is easy enough with a block terminal to allow a copy, cut and paste function where you use a function key and the cursor position to delimit the beginning and end of the block of text/code (not the same sort of block as you are talking about). I am interested here in the provision of the function as opposed to the means of providing function. <snip> > But seriously, CODE and Flex/Edit do provide this. So does Code > Studio, I think. </snip> I think that the point of this part of this thread has got lost. Even if you can list functions that cannot be provided with block mode terminals, I still would rather use one because it has other advantages. There is only one copy of SEU on an AS/400 and except when there is an OS/400 upgrade, it does not require maintenance. There is one copy of Code/400 on every PC that has a developer using it and PC's require constant attention. I know that Code/400 has facilities not in SEU, but I (and others) don't want to use a Windows based product and want the features added to SEU.
