  • Subject: Converting FileMaker Pro 4.1 files from Mac to AS/400

I have been asked to convert some FileMaker Pro 4.1 files from a Mac to
an AS/400 with V3R7. The largest file has about over 22,000 records
and, I am told, took 15 days !!! to convert to a Tab delimited file on
a Mac G3. I now have these on my Windows 95 PC.

I have had a quick look at the first few records and they are a total
mess. I have seen some very bad database designs over the years but
this has to be the worst.

Has anyone any experience of converting FileMaker Pro files to the
AS/400? What would be the best way of transferring them to the AS/400?
Any other tips, suggestions?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Rob Dixon
