How do we externally describe a system36 file?? Probably a stupid question I know..... -----Original Message----- From: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com Sent: Wednesday, June 14, 2000 9:42 PM To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com Subject: Re: transfer of s36 files from as400 to excel The AS/400 is seeing those files as having one field only then. A fix is to externally describe the files and then the transfer will know what to do. _______________________ Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com _______________________ conor.farrell@dubport.ccs.ie Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 06/14/2000 01:34 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: transfer of s36 files from as400 to excel We have just completed a s36 to as400 migration. I cannot transfer the s36 files from the AS400 to a spreadsheet as it reads each record as one field. Has anybody managed to do this Regards Conor Farrell +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
