John -- I had a similar problem on V4R3 on a M170. We wound up: * Installing latest CUME * Installing latest CA service Pack (the shop in question used CA for Windows V3R2). * Installing latest group HIPER CD * THEN IBM let us know there is a TCP/IP group PTF. And a list of V4R3 (and other V4Rx release) specific TCP/IP fixes. Once we made sure we had every PTF on that list installed: presto -- CA/400 problems went away. BTW: not all the PTF's on that list were in the CUME. We had to ask for the list when we called in. As far as I know, the problem hasn't surfaced again in over 6 months. Good luck!
