This debate again....

I've been on an interview where my tech qualifications were not questioned as 
soon as I 
mentioned my certification.

Hi:

I am considering taking one of IBM's certification exams and wanted to know 
what the general concensus was on getting certified, and for those who 
already have it, whether or not it has proved to be of help with regard to 
employment.

My main objectives are career development and to better sell myself as an 
Application Developer.
