We support 250 Mapics users, 400+ desktop across 6 facilities with 2 Sys
Admins, a programmer/analyst, and myself. Occasionally we will contract a
help desk person but our sys admins are cross trained on PC/Network
Support, PBX support, Mapics Support, and reporting (skills depend on the
employee but generally Query, Access, MS SQL, etc.).

We have added one facility per year over the past three and only added net
one staff member, although duties have shifted.

Our AS/400 is located at a corporate data centers to their staff handles
all OS Patches and Hardware support but we are responsible for other admin
tasks on our LPAR.

Subject
[MAPICS-L] MAPICS and user support

My IT department supports 135 R6 MAPICS (IFM, IM, MRP, PCC, COM, IFM,
CAS, PUR, EPDM and Browser) users, 300+ P/C users worldwide (75 of which
are engineering users), two manufacturing locations, 45 mobile devices
(Blackberries) and provides all voice/data support. I have one AS/400
programmer, one VB apps developer (mostly to support engineering), one
help desk person, one network administrator, one server support person,
and me (manager and AS/400 programmer).

I'm curious as to the size and organization of other MAPICS shops and
how many IT folks you have on staff and in what roles.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
