Bruce,

I have CA loaded in my Virtual Box and though it works fine, I actually
like iSeries Access for Linux. It is quite fast. I am trying to use
Mihael's RPG NextGen but if I need something done fast I go back the ole
green screen and let my auto-pilot take over. ;-)

I have an old Thinkpad R40 that doesn't have wireless or a functioning
internal Ethernet port. I bought a Linksys WPC54GS Wireless-G pcmcia
card for $17 at Amazon and Ubuntu found it just fine. I had to reconnect
an ethernet line so Ubuntu could get the drivers, but it works
flawlessly. It appears it is Broadcom based hardware also. This laptop
was discarded by our company as too old and slow, and with Ubuntu it
works just fine. Videos on Youtube and Hulu are a little jerky, but for
most tasks, like CA it is great. I am getting a collection of old
Thinkpads laying around the house, all in hibernation, awaiting use
whenever I need them. In hibernation they consume 4 watt hours, so my
green side is not too compromised. ;-)

Jay

I hear you on the IBM thing, but with Systems Director Navigator for i5
OS... (wow, I am tired after typing that name) and VirtualBox, the CA
thing is just not worth it on Linux. Dismal is not the word for it either.

As for the internal on the ThinkPad, F11 even supported the damn
BroadCom inside the Dell mini 10v... well, after adding the RPMFusion
repository and updating, that is.

Oh yeah, probably do it in my sleep, so if I forgot to mention it
before... the repository at RPMFusion.org rocks! Don't leave yum without
it! <lol>
