QOPenSys is CaSeSenSiive.

Change the QOpenSys in the cl launcher.

Doesn't make any difference. And I think I understand why, and why the capitalization difference was self-correcting:

Referring back to the source fragments in my 10:45 AM email, when we
CD DIR('/qopensys/QIBM/ProdData/JavaVM/jdk80/64bit')

then later
RTVCURDIR RTNDIR(&JD) DIRNAMLEN(&JDL)

and
ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(JAVA_HOME) VALUE(&JD) REPLACE(*YES)

we *are* plugging the canonical capitalization of the pathname (QOpenSys) into the JAVA_HOME environment variable.

So that puts us back to square one: why is the customer box *not* recognizing /QOpenSys/QIBM/ProdData/JavaVM/jdk80/64bit as a legitimate "JV1 option directory," even though it's present, and GO LICPGM Option 10 shows "5761JV1 17 Java SE 8 64 bit," and CHKPRDOPT PRDID(5761JV1) OPTION(17) shows "Product 5761JV1 release V6R1M0 option 0017 load 5117 correctly installed." in the joblog?
