I've found that the easiest way to deal with the classpath is to use the Java Extension Mechanism. All you have to do is to throw all of your jar files into a specific directory (on my PC it's D:\jdk1.3.0\jre\lib\ext, adjust this for your environment). All jar files in that directory are automatically in your classpath. You never have to change autoexec.bat again.
