Larry, I have JDK1.1.8, JDK1.2 and JDK1.3 from Sun installed on my machine, along with JDK1.1.8 and JDK1.3 from IBM. It's fairly easy to use the right compiler; by pointing to the appropriate /bin directory when running the compiler, it seems to work just fine. Of course, you sometimes have to do some special stuff to get your CLASSPATH right, but I don't use a lot of 3rd-party JAR files, so my environment is fairly easy. You have a special problem, though. Your OS/400 is at 1.2 and your PC at 1.3 Can you get some sort of optional install of 1.2 on your PC? Can you upgrade your OS/400 to 1.3? One way or the other, you need to get your development IDE "behind" OS/400, not ahead of it. Larry W.
