I have used UltraVNC for years with many PC's. It's free. I comes with it's own high
encryption. I also use VNC Control to easily manage many different PC's setup
differently. For a couple PC's it's probably not necessary. It's also free.
It comes with file transfer.
I like it a lot better than LogMeIn.
If you need any help in setting it up let me know.
