If you talk to mike or the guys from HelpSystems you'll hear all about it Edmund.

But it really is ALL installs. Web install worked fine until the last two releases of Mac OS. Sadly the IBM install hasn't kept up and Catalina made it even worse.

It is not that you can't (eventually) get it running. It is that it never quite works completely properly. Plugins in particular are a major pain and I've had to temporarily give up on a couple fo my favourites.

If IBM is going to support the Mac they really need to at least support a release like Catalina that has been out for about a year now. I am probably going to have to defer my next OS upgrade until IBM fixes this.

So Jon, what issues does the poor Mac user run into when doing the web
install?
We want to make sure we are addressing them.

Right now Edmund using the web install leads to real problems for a Mac
user. Well so does any other method right now but ...

Hopefully this will be fixed soon because I really need to be able to
update plugins etc. more easily.

For installing with product images, it says to make sure that you
unzip to
the same directory.
But there is also the web install method, which I
prefer

Although I don't have experience on the Mac.

But here are very simple instructions that will work and don't
require
downloading and extracting those huge zip files, and even
instructions on
using those as well.
