But here are very simple instructions that will work and don't require
downloading and extracting those huge zip files, and even instructions on
using those as well.

Steve,
I decided that I needed to do this as well, plus I wanted to reinstall
RDi
to hopefully fix a quirk that was starting to irk me...
I removed what I think are all traces of RDi & IM by deleting the Apps
and
my workspace.
I downloaded the 2 trial zip files from IBM -
IBM_RATIONAL_DEVELOPER_FOR_I_V9.6.zip and
IBM_RATIONAL_DEVELOPER_FOR_I_V9.6.zip (They are both named the same, but
one has disk1 and the other has disk2).
I ran the "xattr -c" on the 2 zip files, then unzipped them.
I drilled into disk1/InstallerImage_macosx_cocoa_x86_64 and clicked on
the
Userinst Application.
It starts to run, then throws a message log into the /configuration
folder
that begins like this (there are quite a few more messages afterwords):
> !SESSION 2020-11-02 12:07:57.760

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Susan,
Yes you would need to uninstall Installation Manager first. Then uncheck
the look for updates so it doesn't automatically update again.
Thanks!

Hi Steve,
My IM is already at 1.9.1.2 - which would appear to be an unsupported
version of IM.
How can I get back to 1.8.9.4? Uninstall IM first?
