Jon,

Funny you mention that. Because that drives me nuts. They need a MDI interface like RDI! <Hint Hint>

That used to drive me nuts with discontinued Code400.

Need to look at the gold Standard of the competition, Microsoft SSMS. They used MDI, and a lot of other functionality that DBeaver & Squirrel have in their interface design.

IBM is still playing catchup, but getting better.

IBM please study the competition and catch up. Or better yet, SURPASS them! <Big Smile>

It is a vastly improved tool Edmund but still a bit clumsy compared with tools like DBeaver.

For example - every time I run an SQL script it pops another window for the results. But, at least on the Mac version, there is no "Window" menu select item - so if I move off to another app - or even just look at the results - it can be a royal pain to get back to them. Imagine if RDi worked that way rather than contained within a single workbench and you'll see what I mean.

Has anyone started playing with ACS Run Sql Scripts. It now has
code-assist since the December release for schemas, tables and columns
within a SELECT statement, and the latest release last week has added all
the DML statements and prompting for parameters and returned columns from
procedures and functions. It is really taking off.

My 12 Microsoft co-workers in my department love DBeaver, because it has
code-assist. Not as good as Microsoft of course.

I recommend installing it BY ITSELF. Do not install inside of RDI. <Hint

You sure Jason? - maybe DBeaver have removed the compatible version?
I installed and used it on the current RDi base for quite a while
until an incompatibility with another plugin screwed me up and I
hadn't the time or energy to resolve it.

You won't be able to install DBeaver in the version of Eclipse RDi

have the most current version of Eclipse installed, and then I
installed DBeaver into that. I try and putting any plugins into RDi,
unless they are written for RDi due to the older Eclipse version.
