Edmund,

I have to mention that the code-assist in RUN SQL scripts seems to work EVERYTIME! Very Good!

In Dbeaver code-assist sometimes works, and sometimes not.

So, ACS Run Sql scripts is pretty good! Just always looking for FASTER, and Better UI.

Thanks for all the Hard work on improving Run SQL Scripts and other IBM developer Tools! It is appreciated! Even though I complain a lot. <grin> Darn Developers [Ken] are the most demanding users in the world. <Big IBM i Developer Smile>

It is all about the front end User Experience. So, I suggest emulating existing tools, that developers already Love the "intuitive" interface.

Such as Find/Replace should only need one tab to go from "FIND" to "REPLACE" Field. The only exception on that is "LPEX". It required 4-TABS to go the replace field. And then does not automatically highlight. <rant>

At least Run SQL Scripts follows that One tab to go to the replace field! BRAVO!!! Just like ECLIPSE! YEAH!

RUN SQL Scripts follows the "STANDARD" of Ctrl+H for Find-Replace dialog. Unlike LPEX. Tools in the IBM i arsenal need to be consistent and uniform! <Big Grin> I guess that is a suggestion...

Edmund,

Yes, the code-assist is good but extremely slow.

Now, it allows you toggle between Short & Long Names! EXCELLENT!

ACS run sql script has EXCELLENT/SUPERIOR Error Reporting! Bravo...

In both DBeaver & SquirrelSQL, I can copy my Column names. Then I can insert my sql into SQLRPGLE.

Good Start, but it need to be faster, and work like DBeaver, SquirrelSQL, and Microsoft SMSS the Gold-Standard.

Keep the Improvement coming for Modern IBM i Developers! Eventual, you will catch up to Microsoft. And Hopefully, one day surpass Microsoft SSMS, the Bar in SQL Editor. <Optimistic Smile>

It all about the developer tools! Great improvements on RDI! Good upgrades for ACS Run SQL Scripts.

Has anyone started playing with ACS Run Sql Scripts.  It now has
code-assist since the December release for schemas, tables and columns
within a SELECT statement, and the latest release last week has added all
the DML statements and prompting for parameters and returned columns from
procedures and functions.  It is really taking off.
