Hi Don,

There is a button on the outline bar that messes me up all the time. The hover text is "hide unreferenced definitions".

If the background is a different color than the refresh button, it's toggled down and will hide any unreferenced definitions.

If that is not the issue, then please open a PMR with IBM support. They will ask you for a log file.

You can locate that log file by going to the Help menu, select Installation details, then select the Configuration tab, then select the View Error Log.

Thanks!

Steve Ferrell

Thanks Jon,

I have PDT Version 4.3.0.201703131616

No Errors are evident in the PHP file

I have explicitly selected the PHP editor to open the file.

Trying more files I now find that some are showing the outline correctly, some are showing procedures but not fields and some are showing fields and not procedures and some are showing nothing at all.

I have checked the filters and nothing is applied.

Most weird

Is the php showing any signs that there are errors (i.e. the rd bars
on the RHS of the edit window? Most of the outline view issues I have
encountered have been due to this.

Another possibility lurking at the back of my mind relates to file
associations. In some cases the editor remembers an association for a
file. For instance (I think this is the scenario) if I had a file with
a txt extension and renamed it to php it would not switch to using php
syntax coloration, outline view etc. I think the way to check it is
to right click on the source and see which editor it picks as the
default from the list. IN my car one was selecting th text editor and
the other the php editor.

I'm assuming in all this that you have loaded PDT into RDi.

Rdi Version: 9.6.0.5

I have a php file open and the outline view is displayed correctly.

I open another php file and no outline view <grrr>

I close and open the member and explicitly select the php editor -
still
no outline <Grrrr>

I close Rdi and open with the -clean option and re-open the php file
and
still no outline >GRrrrrrrr>

I try Ctrl + Shift + F5 to refresh the out line - no change
<GRRRRrrrrrrr>

Any suggestions to what I might try next ?
