Wow! The Fossils are everywhere! You made me Laugh!

By the way, I am the one of the oldest IBM I Developers here. So, by Fossil, I mean unable/unwilling to learn new things. It has absolute NOTHING to do with Age! <Big Smile>

Even a "Geezer" like Jon Paris is still learning new things!

Hat tip to Geezer Jon! <IBM I Champion>

PS. They will use won't even use "Tab" to go to the next field on Green-Screen. Instead they hold down the Arrow Key. And I was told that "XML is just some new fad, it has not been around a long time." Even though XML is well over 30-years old.

Sadly, that is why we have perception that our IBM is the "Univac-punch-card-400", a.k.a. Old technology. :(

My favorite quote, "I had to use keyboard shortcuts in DOS, I WON'T use them in Windows".

Steve,

Concur! Shortcut keys are GREAT! But mouse options are also nice for the newbies...

But, showing newbies shortcuts like Ctrl+X (cut) & Ctrl+V(Paste) literally blows their minds!

Newbies love it when you show them how to use the mouse. The biggest complain I get it is "so hard to navigate RDI".

Sadly, the punch-card-fossils use the mouse to go up the Copy-Button/Paste-Button. Never shortcuts keys. TOO HARD, they scream at me. Too complicated! Oh well, out of my control.

Love the shortcuts, but newbies love the mouse...

I point the newbies to these links:

http://systemideveloper.com/downloadRSEShortcuts.html

The ones willing to learn print the "RESE-Shortcuts" and tape it to their laptop cover and/or pin it on their cubicle wall. A few fossils are willing to learn new things. <Thumbs up!>
