Hi Vern,

I don't recall an RFE asking for both Edit and Browse to be displayed.

We opted NOT to add it because LPEX uses this section to mark the current number of changes for undo when in Edit mode. LPEX also would occasionally clear the Edit status label as you moved about the Editor.

The short cut keys are displayed on the Source menu option "Toggle Edit/Browse Mode (Ctrl-Shift-G)". We can also add it to the hover text over the component. ("Click here to toggle to Browse Mode (Ctrl-Shift-G)")

One of our goals is to keep your fingers on the keyboard instead of needing to reach for your mouse.

Hi Steve

I like the 2 places to double-click - I just wish that it would show both modes for editing - as I think about it, the bar above the edit window does show only Browse - you assume you are editing unless told otherwise.

The problem is, that blank box at the status bar gives no clue it can be used for anything. Is there an RFE for this? I thought I might have submitted one.

No one would easily have a clue about the keyboard alternative, seems to me.

Vern

Hi Craig,

The toggle browse/edit mode was introduced in RDi version 9.6.0.2.

You can use Ctrl-Shift-G while in a member, instead of needing to use your mouse.

Hi all,

At the bottom of RDi on the status bar there is a rectange you can click that toggles between "Replace" and "Insert" - it acts like pressing the INSERT key.

To the left of that is a box which for me is either blank or shows "Browse"
Blank means I'm in Edit Mode, "Browse" means I'm in Browse Mode and double clicking that box toggles between the two modes.

This apparently doesn't work for any of my colleagues.

I'm not sure but I don't think:
- I've ever configured this on.
- It's an iSphere thing ( my colleagues aren't using iSphere )

I'm getting them to check there RDi version but anyone else know why this might or not be enabled?

thanks,
Craig
