The source tab shows a pencil or a magnifying glass icon to indicate browse or edit.
I always thought the blank box seemed like a last-minute hack, and assumed it would be fixed.

I like the 2 places to double-click - I just wish that it would show both modes for editing - as I think about it, the bar above the edit window does show only Browse - you assume you are editing unless told otherwise.
The problem is, that blank box at the status bar gives no clue it can be used for anything. Is there an RFE for this? I thought I might have submitted one.
No one would easily have a clue about the keyboard alternative, seems to me.
