FWIW, I switched to SquirrelSQL because it supports XLSX export (both the Quantum and SQLExplorer plugins only support XLS with its 64K line limit).
Unfortunately it's a standalone product and not an Eclipse/RDi plugin, but the advantage outweighs the need to fire up yet another tool.

Scott,
Out of interest can Quantum (I take it you mean
http://quantum.sourceforge.net/) export result sets as SQL update/Insert statements?
By far the best databse tool I have used is
http://www.dbvis.com/ <
http://www.dbvis.com/> and it had this feature but only for PRO customers.
Dbeaver
http://dbeaver.jkiss.org/ <
http://dbeaver.jkiss.org/> does something similar, but its not as user friendly.

Aaron

Chris,
I can't remember if the Database Perspective was available back then or not. If it was, I must have tried it and decided it would not work.
I know about that max row setting.
The nice thing about Quantum it too has a setting like that, but it also has an icon to quickly request the rest of the rows. No need to go change a setting.
I have yet to find a SQL plug-in that has this feature. Or I missed it because it was not obvious. :)
At some point I will give the Database perspective another shot.
Quantum is just so quick and dirty. Kind of like I still use text files for my notes instead of Word or OneNote. :)
Thanks,
Scott Johnson

--Several years ago, I had the need to run SQL and export large

Scott, were you unable to use the Database Perspective because of the
default "Max row count" of 600?
Preferences->Data Management-> SQL Development-> SQL Results View
Options.
The preferences page includes the max row count and max display row
count options.
If you have Max Row Count set to a number other than Zero, then any
statement you run may only run over that many rows.
I eventually found this preference after my update statements would
only affect a subset of the data.
