Oops! You are correct he is asking about parameters. I jumped to the idea that he was talking about program variables.

I'd say yes, parms should always be in source order...I can not see how rearranging them provides any help and in fact could be could quite detrimental if you didn't realize they had been re-arranged.

I put in an RFE to not (or optionally not) sort parameters when the
outline is marked to sort alphabetically. I don't know about you
guys/gals, but 99.999% of the time I have the outline sorted
alphabetically. The only piece I don't want sorted alphabetically are
the parameters, so when I look up parameter info (since content assist
doesn't show parameter descriptions, and per the rejected RFE

0305 it won't get them), I have to unsort, re-expand the parameters,
then when I'm done getting what I want, I need to resort.
