I have noticed this type of time out working remotely over a VPN with a client. I have not noticed this working locally where I am right now. But I don't think it is the remote vs. local scenario. My hunch is that it has to do with the configuration of the system that I am connected to. Where I am right now I can let RDP sit all day with no activity and I stay connected.

I get this all the time if I've let RDP sit for awhile - and I'm directly connected over the internal network - really very irritating - has been this way forever, back to WDSC versions.

I don't know a remedy - I just wish it would not time out.

All,
I have been receiving this message for some time now.
I am connected to a remote system via a VPN.
The connection has not dropped. (I have a green screen session that
would have disconnected if it did).
After editing some source, I attempt to save it and receive a dialog
box indicating that the conneceion was dropped and asking if I want to
reconnect. When I click on reconnect, it does connect with no issues.

Is there some setting in RDP that is causing a timeout or something else?

Thanks,
