As far as EGL goes, it seems that their intention is to standardizeYou're right, Robert. EGL is actually a PIM (a platform independent model) implementation, and if they continue on with a few of their other directions, it's going to support a lot of first-class OO capabilities as well, which means it's going to be a very powerful language. In any event, it's my firm belief that EGL will be around as long or longer than a lot of the other languages that are currently popular.
