Excellent question. This goes well with Joe Pluta who mentions that his classes generally do well as they are shown the way to do the things they need.

The Netbeans folks frequently do video demos (showing their screen with voice over explaining what we see) of their new things so people can SEE what happens instead of just being told in words in a tutorial.

Perhaps a few cases of common tasks with such commentaries would be immensely valuable as visual tutorials where you can always go back and see how it was done?
