The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Put a 5250 session and Visual Studio beside each other and I can tell you
what an 18 to 25yr old is going to pick - they don't care about
quality/performance/stability/ect at that age (or most don't).

Young'ins like flashy stuff.
It's not just that it's flashy. It's that for the most programmers new
to the System i are used to the GUI way of doing things rather than the
command-line way of doing things. There will be a learning curve for
anyone starting to use System i IDEs, whether PDM/SEU or WDSC. I think
it is easier to for newcomers to learn WDSC, because most will have used
another graphical IDE, but many will not be familiar with the SEU way of
doing things. Even those that are used to vi, EMACS or Textpad will
probably have at least as much trouble with PDM/SEU as with WDSC.
