Websphere Express comes to mind with all of this. How many circles did we do with that (free today, charge tomorrow, free the next day). I think IBM is secretly rubbing shoulders with the Mayo clinic there in Rochester and IBM gets paid for each person they send in for nervous breakdown treatment. There, we found the hidden agenda - whew, it was hiding, but we finally found it. Of course if they start charging for more and more features then you will see the different products like Bob Cozzi's CodeStudio come back to life at a fraction of the cost (right now it is free to download from what I understand). This is more of IBM not understanding its own user base. And it's really starting to get to me. This is the third time that they've pulled this bait and switch crap, and it's getting a little bit old. I'm out there evangelizing for the product for iSeries shops, and they go and pull the rug out from me yet again. How they figure someone is going to pay extra for an iSeries development tool is beyond me. Just like the WDSC move: if a tool is not worth the $3500 (or whatever) a seat for an iSeries shop, then REMOVING functionality in order to force iSeries shops to use it is as dishonest as it is foolish.
