Either the product planners are clueless about how we use this product,
they think they have us over a barrel and want to milk us, or there's some underlying technical issue that they haven't fixed yet and aren't telling us about. Or they are sick of supporting two editors for RPG and two environments that require two different programmer mindsets on their part(i.e. Java for LPEX and C/C++ for CODE). I can see the reasoning for dropping CODE. I am with you though on the front of charging for it though. I would rather see them increase the compiler charge because if these AE features prove to be powerful then we will have to beg management to get out the checkbook. If it was included in the compiler charge then it is more "hidden" IMO. If you look at the announcement letter or the planning statement for CODE, you'll see that it's been 'deprecated' - it won't be changed to support any new releases of OS/400, and it won't be included in future versions of WDSCi.
