It really stinks that Application Diagram and Screen Designer Technology Preview are only in the Advanced Edition.
I agree 100% that Screen Designer _has_ to be part of the standard package. It can only slow down adoption at a point in time where the reduced footprint will help the tools take off. The new Designer is a direct replacement for CODE Designer (and SDA of course) both of which we currently have. If IBM fail to make it generally available it just sends folks back to SDA. The Diagrammer I think is a different issue - particularly since it is the first step in producing more comprehensive tools. Would I like it to be free of charge? Yes - but if IBM charge a reasonable amount for it that is OK too. But the word "reasonable" means a maximum of 3 digits per seat and the first digit should be around a 3 or a 4! Sadly Software group still seem to be able to persuade mainframe customers that $3,000 + a seat is a reasonable price for tools such as this and that mentality pervades their WDSC thinking.
