I would love to use Linux at work, but policy is to keep things homogenous. There is also a fear of open source involved. How do you gain access to things
that ONLY work on Windows - do you use VMWare or something?

I don't think I have anything like that .... the only ones I can think of off the top of my head are things I had to search out because I wanted functionality that I could have on Linux as part of the base install. For example - a reasonable screen-shot tool, a decent text editor, and a way to remap keys. Actually, there are one or two things that run 'under the covers' - Symantec backup tool & antivirus, and a program that keeps track of what programs are installed that might cause some problems for switching.

At home, I have a dual-boot machine. I haven't booted Windows for ages - I think the last time I did was to confirm that my USB card reader was faulty rather than having a driver issue of some sort. I used to reboot more frequently when I had more time to play games, although right now all the games I play when I can snatch some time are either on my Nintendo DS or work on Linux anyway (Nethack, Neverwinter Nights).

I've been trying to set up WDSC to run under the QEMU virtual machine software - I finally got around to installing 5.1.2 same time that 6.0 showed up.
