From: Mark S. Waterbury In my opinion, IBM should make WDSCi freely available, via a web site, where anyone can download it and install it, etc. -- after all, who is going to do that if they do not have an iSeries to use it with?
Actually, a lot of people can use WDSC, Mark. The code underlying WDSC (Rational Web Developer, the old WSSD) is by itself perhaps the best web application development IDE on the market. Heck, just the built-in WebSphere testing environment puts it in a league of its own. That's the ongoing beef between Rational and the iSeries group; Rational wants per-seat pricing for their tools, and iSeries folks get them for free. Joe
