(was: Ordering WDSC 6.0 from BP - week IV) Hello, all: Why does IBM make it so difficult for legitimate customers to obtain the latest version of WDSCi ? Just look at how many different people have posted questions about problems in this regard to this list over the past year or two ... At least, with ClientAccess or iSeriesAccess, you could always just install or upgrade it directly from the IFS ... once the latest release of i5/OS or OS/400 is installed on your iSeries server. Why can't they do that for WDSCi? In my opinion, IBM should make WDSCi freely available, via a web site, where anyone can download it and install it, etc. -- after all, who is going to do that if they do not have an iSeries to use it with? And, if that iSeries does not have the WebSphere Development Tools (5722-WDS) Licensed Program Product (LPP) installed, then it will not be of much use to them anyway. Furthermore, this would go a long way towards encouraging a new generation of programmers, college students, etc., to try it, and learn more about iSeries ... ;-) That's my opinion. Mark S. Waterbury
