Violaine,

I like this idea but I can't locate the option you are referring to.

I have a filter that covers the source files in my library. I expand a source
file and select a display file. Right clicking does not show an option to
cache the file description. Thinking it may only apply to data files I tried
one of those also. Still no option to cache the file description.

Am I missing something?

Rick

Hi Jeff,

The outline view actually does a verify "under the covers" to determine
external references and such and uses your Verify preferences.
If you have refresh cache not selected, then you would not see the new
field.

However, the easiest way to update your cache in this case, should be to
1) find your new file in the RSE (drill down, create a filter, whatever
your preference)
2) right click and select the Cache File Description from the popup menu

Hope this helps.
