Hi Jeff, The outline view actually does a verify "under the covers" to determine external references and such and uses your Verify preferences. If you have refresh cache not selected, then you would not see the new field. However, the easiest way to update your cache in this case, should be to 1) find your new file in the RSE (drill down, create a filter, whatever your preference) 2) right click and select the Cache File Description from the popup menu Hope this helps.
