Slick trick there Michael...
I've heard of configuring an OUTQ to do some tricks with distribution but was not aware a MSGQ could be similarly configured...

If you can remember that loooong time ago, would you care to elaborate on your redirection trick...?

Cheers...

I would also include where I want the reports sent to, as well as which user
is to get the message.

You need to specify a user who will not ignore the message and even a
different user to receive the report.

I had set up a situation, a loooong time ago where the message is received
by one user and then automatically distributed to a number of key users.
The original recipient was just a dummy. Perhaps useful for situations
where you are trying to locate problem situations.

One other thing that is often missed. You also set up a user for messages
& reports - its funny how this is often set to QPGMR - so that when
anything goes wrong that person gets notification. If QPGMR is used then
the chances are you don't know what is happening. Set these to a power
user or IT member and the next time there is a posting to the error
rounding account or any other failure, that user will receive a break
message and have a report giving them details of the problem.

Hello all,

My GLUPDATE program appears to be stalled however there is no message to
respond to. Instead there is only a status of DLYW which, according to F1,
says that the job is in a delayed mode (but it does not say why this is so
or what can be done to push it back along).

Anyone know how to unthaw this let me know.

Thank you!

Alan
