Greetings, All!

This thread has certainly taken an interesting turn.

For us, it became a rather simple decision. I present as evidence:
1) Invoice arrived, with maintenance cost more than doubling.
2) No more access to source code for the additional dollars (GEAC did back
off on this, per our contract).
3) Response time had stretched to > 48 hours, just to call back and find out
what the problem was.
4) GEAC Year 2000 fix was just that: the same errors returned 1 January
2001.

Our Verdict: Far better to contract a third party for help and technical
support as needed. Yes, that admittedly cut us off from PTFs and/or
upgrades. However, with all the better System21 people moving from GEAC to
consultants we didn't expect much in the way of upgrades, and got a much
higher level of support for significantly lower dollars.

End Result: We're currently abandoning System21 for a different ERP. And,
while I haven't made a point of checking, I rather doubt we're alone in
following this path.
