I started whith NetData, but since IBM abandoned it, I do not think it is a
good idea now. I still have some.

Next I downloaded and intalled CGIDEV2, from easy400.net
Look at the samples, and write some simple reports. Once you start to feel
confortable select a heavy used query, with a sub file, and convert it to
web.
Dds records become sections, the header becomes the table header, the sub
file record becomes a table line, and you need to add a table foot.

The program logic remains very similar: write the header, loop to build the
lines, write the foot...

I have usted green screen since 1975, in an "Intel development systen",
next in s/32, S/34, S/36, AS/400... and I still use it a lot. I like it.

But, I have not found a single user that prefers green screen rather than a
fast web interface. Of course the jung ones, but even the old users that
hesitated a lot before trying the web do not want to go back to the green
screen.

Also, I am lazy, so when I need to program a report, or a complete new
system, I preffer to do it whith the more powerfull and flexible tools that
the web provides.

Win-win: work less get happier users.
