In debug, my SQLRPGLE program has this row:

          QtmhWrStout( bigCharVar : length: err );

and bigCharVar has the correct data.

My understanding at the moment is that I need a web service server with a named & deployed rest service.  That server needs to be assigned a port and has to be running.  Then, if I point any modern browser at that port + /name-of-deployed-service, I should get the raw JSON data showing on my screen?

This is all with Scott's YAJL

This should be all you need. If you want to debug the JSON it's making,
you can write it out to the IFS as well.

Don't try to make it too difficult.
