Is there a DDS method to present a field that is blank, but require that

the field be populated with something other than blanks before the field

is considered valid? I can do this in RPG, but it simplifies things if

can have the display manager handle it.

For example, for a 10-character field that can be sent to the screen as
blanks but must be returned as non-blank and can have any keyboard value
in it -- including embedded blanks:

A FIELD 9 B 5 10DSPATR(MDT)
A RANGE('¢' '9999999999')
