I believe it works this way...
If you write the screen with the Modified Data Tag, DSPATR(MDT), on the
field in question then the DDS will edit the value if you use the values
keyword.
If you do not set the modified data tag then the user will need to have
changed the field for the DDS to edit it.
The DDS edit will occur only if the system recognizes that the data has been
modified.

Is there a DDS method to present a field that is blank, but require that the
field be populated with something other than blanks before the field is
considered valid? I can do this in RPG, but it simplifies things if I can
have the display manager handle it.
