Since you've looked at the Easy400 tools - I assume CGIDEV2 is in the mix - I have a method of writing XLSX using CGIDEV2 that could do this task easily. I gave a presentation on this at the last COMMON and have the handout and a lab available if you're interested. The lab even has the necessary CGIDEV2 resources to run it.

The handout and lab are on my machine - contact me directly for the URL - you could download things away from work, put them on a thumb drive, and ba-da-bing! NO BOOM!

I will look at your Python links and get back to you. We are still on V7R1

I do need to train other programmers (shell programs, commands, etc) in
whatever solution as to a set of steps to create an output.
Also looking at the Easy400 tools (which I have used several before).

If you want quick and easy (and of course free), there are arguably
better options than POI. I strongly recommend iSeriesPython and
XlsxWriter (which is what I use personally). If you can wait until IBM
officially releases their Python for PASE (currently scheduled for
late June), then you can use that instead of iSeriesPython.

If you are open to this at all, I can provide tips. I'm not a vendor,
just an advocate.
