Hi Tom

I think you make a good point here, and I'm curious as to what, generally, this is in response to - somehow that didn't get into your post. There've been a couple branches off this thread. Some examples presented in this thread had nothing to do with using Open Access - Jon's article gives a to-the-point example, with links to other articles that deal more with pointers and all. There were sample source in the beta, I hope there is in the GA.

Of course, there was the branch today that rapidly spiraled down into casting aspersions on the general RPG developer community - not at all helpful in my opinion.

Regards
Vern

When you have no understanding of how something works, a snippet of code is
like a form of torture. You see that it can be accomplished, but you only
see a
piece of the puzzle. I have found this especially true in my attempts to
pull myself up by my own bootstraps with PHP. You can read the manuals, or
even buy a book, but good examples are lacking. I don't consider myself
lazy, but cannot spend countless hours spinning my wheels either. Once you
get a working example up and running, you can dissect it and understand all
the pieces of the puzzle.

With that all said, I thank all of you who monitor these posts and help
people. It has been my BEST source of help that I have found out there.
