Well, I guess I didn't state my point well. Yes, of course there is
little guarantee that a company will pass along cost savings, but
competitive pressures tend to make that happen over time.

And therein lies the rub. Where's the competition in the midrange space?
I know that there are Unix boxes that fall into this category but for
whatever reason, the market doesn't equate Unix with midrange. To the
best of my knowledge, our beloved AS400/iSeries/System I devoured all of
it's competition. That being the case, you don't have anyone in the
market forcing your prices down.
