I'm pretty sure I still don't understand. If I got paid a dollar an hour, and worked for 1 hour and 2 minutes, the boss owes me 1.03. I worked 1.03333 hours, not 1.02.

Take a more extreme example where I work 1 hour 45 minutes. That turns out to be 1.75 hours. At a dollar an hour, my pay becomes 1.75, not 1.45.

What am I missing?
