If the client channel is via the web then a compromise strategy could be to employ the use of digital certificates in conjunction with a signature. Although a client could obtain a digital cert from a well known CA, like Verisgn, it is easy to allow the iSeries to generate client certificates where your company becomes the trusted CA. It is a simple matter for a client to download a cert from the iSeries once you have authenticated the client by some existing method. The client signature could be captured as a one off procedure and store as an image linked to a database theat is also linked to the digital cert stored on the iSeries. Thus, every web transaction would automatically be authenticated by the HTTP server and the back-end transaction process could attach the corresponding signature image. This is a very low cost solution. A more secure but more expensive enhancement would be to deploy a swipe card or dongle device at the client site which required the client to possess a card or dongle on which a certificate is stored furnished by a 3rd party that supplys such solutions. -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of eduard@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, 24 November 2006 4:54 a.m. To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: Re: Connecting Customer Signature to iSeries activity. store
that with the activity in an automated way . Does someone had this type of requirement and what could be a workable

of doing this? Kind regards, Eduard
