And what makes the fall worse is the fact that it didn't matter whether it was a DOW or DOU, the code would still write a blank record after F3 once it got into the loop anyway...

I'm NOT going to give you the technical answer, but anyone who has had



the
CS101 course (basic programming logic) has surely been taught that a
DO WHILE loop (RPG/400's DOW operation) doesn't check the looping
condition until it reaches the END of the loop (RPG/400's ENDDO
operation).


I think that's incorrect.  Doesn't the DOW check at the start of the
loop and the DOU check at the end?
