the problem does not seem to be there, add one intermediate level to the
criteria :

    1 list salesman behind one salesman (if ther is only autority for one
jump automatically to step 3)
    2 Select one salesman from the list
    3 for one salesman list customer ...

Again SQL seems to be a good candidate
