It is not in the RPG IV manual, it is an ILE "limit" from what I remember
back when we were in Rochester with the original RPG IV compiler and that
questions was brought up. The response was 32K per activation group. Of
course, if that's changed, I would have no idea.

Bob: Can you tell me where in the RPG manuals that limit is documented? 
As far as I know, the RPG compiler doesn't impose a limit, and as far as 
its concerned, you can have as many files as you want. But I'm sure that 
some system limit would eventually be exceeded if you coded too many 
files. I suspect that, at least, you'd probably run out of static 
storage well before 32K files.
