Yes, well, I've done much more than my share of that in my life in the RPG world. While I love this market space and want to continue to contribute, one cannot pay the mortgage, feed the kids, pay for kid's wedding, give money to charities, etc. by doing everything for free. The other problem with doing to many non-paying activities is that this market space in turns, expects you to do everything for free. Not sure why that is, but it has something to do with notoriety: "You're famous, therefore you are obviously rich and have some high revenue stream." Sadly, if an $80 billion company like IBM can't afford to pay someone like me or the others on this list who can contribute to the very industry that helps earn IBM that $80 billion, then altruistic intensions aside, what is the point? I will continue to provide some 40,000+ subscribers with free information twice a month via my free email newsletter, and contribute to this and the yahoogroups.com RPG IV list. But to go work for IBM for free for two weeks or more is never going to happen (again). -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Terry@xxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, June 23, 2004 10:32 AM To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: RE: Time for a new "Sorcerer's Guide"?
