Hi Buck,

I thought the same thing. But once I tried to use MONITOR, etc I could not
find a way to throw an errno based error. Rpg code can throw a msgid based
exception using the message APIs, but MONITOR does not catch those on a
msgid specified basis. ( MONITOR catches them all as the same general
exception based errno )

CL does a great job of catching exceptions. I vote that rpg be enhanced to
handle exceptions in the same way.

Steve

I thought we already have throw and catch.
MONITOR and ON-ERROR?

ps Hans is important to RPG because he's one of the people that supply the
development muscle. If the team were down one person permanently, they
wouldn't be as effective, no? And heaven forbid he decides to stay home
permanently (sound of me rapping on my wooden head), how long to ramp up his
replacement - if IBM would even replace him?
