I use a lot of triggers in my transaction processing, and find pointers invaluable. So it is not only "system level" processing which benefit by judicious use of them. Like most things, they can be abused and are not the right tool for every task. Used in the right context (with user spaces another prime example), they *increase* readability, IMHO. The bottom line is I'm glad they got added to the language, even from a business transaction standpoint. Doug
